The Manhattan

Like its namesake cocktail, The Manhattan blends strength and sophistication in equal measure. Perfectly presented, The Manhattan gets around from uptown club to downtown dive, from the Battery to the Bronx. There’s even a cherry on top (well, etched on the case back). A New York exclusive, if ever there was one.

Our playful twist

The multi-layer dial showcases several technical innovations, the most striking of which is a 1mm sapphire disc featuring a distinctive, liquid-like surface. This effect is achieved through advanced 5-axis CNC machining, followed by meticulous semi-polishing to create the desired finish. Each CNC machine produces only 6–8 discs per day, with a yield rate of approximately 50–60%. During the surface-finishing stage, a single polishing unit can process around 20 pieces per seven-hour batch, also with a yield rate of about 50–60%.

Beneath the sapphire layer lies the base dial, which incorporates seven carefully applied layers of custom-formulated Super-LumiNova pigment. Each layer must be allowed to dry fully before the next is added, making the process exceptionally time-consuming but essential for achieving a vivid and uniform glow.

The floating effect

In daylight, the printing details appear to float, casting a shadow on the lower base dial. As the watch moves around in relation to the light source, the shadows move accordingly, resulting in a dynamic and ever-changing appearance. In darkness, the printing details are backlit by the bright Super-LumiNova base dial and appear to be totally disconnected from any surface.

The SW210-1

A movement that is as reliable as your favourite bartender: the SW210-1 by Sellita is a Manual Winding Swiss Calibre that boasts a 42-hour power reserve and is accurate to -7/+7 seconds per day.

Fears

The Fears Watch Company Limited, known as “Fears”, is a British luxury watch company, with heritage. Fears is one of Britain’s oldest family-run watch companies, first established in 1846 by Edwin Fear in Bristol. The business ran for 130 years until it closed in 1976. In 2016, the year the business would have celebrated its 170th anniversary, it was re-established by Edwin Fear’s great-great-great-grandson, Nicholas Bowman-Scargill. Fears today is located in its historical home city of Bristol, where the watches are designed, before being hand built in Britain.

Assembled in Great Britain

Every Studio Underd0g watch is assembled fully in-house, by our own team, in Great Britain.

Each watch is assembled start to finish by a single pair of hands, rather than moving through an assembly line of multiple technicians. The initials of the person who assembled the watch appear on the paperwork that accompanies it.

Duties & Taxes

Queries regarding shipping to the EU.

We have adjusted our pricing to ensure that EU customers are not charged UK VAT (20%) on their orders. All EU orders are shipped on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis, which means local duties and taxes must be paid by the customer before delivery. Any import duties, clearance fees, brokerage fees, or additional charges are the responsibility of the customer. Please note that we cannot refund any customs duties paid if you choose to return your watch. Any duties, taxes, or fees incurred by us will be deducted from your refund.

Queries regarding shipping to the US.

We will be shipping all U.S. orders on a DDP (Delivered Duties Paid) basis. This means you won’t face any unexpected duties or customs charges. Sales tax may be applied at checkout for certain states where legally required. We cannot refund any customs duties if you return your watch. Any duties, taxes, or fees incurred by us will be deducted from your refund.

Important: Upon import into the U.S., Customs officials may request your Social Security Number (SSN) or Tax ID. This is a legal requirement that we cannot override. If requested, this information must be provided for your shipment to be released. Failure to do so may result in the package being returned to us, and any associated shipping costs will be the customer’s responsibility.

US Customers Please Note: All US orders are shipped as part of a bulk shipment, with Studio Underd0g acting as the importer of record.

The shipment is first processed through US Customs as a single bulk import. Once the shipment has cleared customs, the individual orders are released into the DHL domestic network for final delivery to customers.

In most cases, shipments clear US customs smoothly with no action required from customers. In the unlikely event that customs requires additional information, we handle this directly as the importer, so no information is required from you.

If anything unexpected arises during the clearance process, we will manage it directly with the shipping carrier and customs authorities.

Queries regarding shipping to the ROW (not including the UK).

All orders are shipped from the UK, so import duties or taxes may apply. We ship international orders on a DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid) basis.

This means that any outstanding import duties, clearance fees, brokerage fees, or other additional charges are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid upon delivery of your order.

Please note that we cannot refund any customs duties paid if you return your watch. Any duties, taxes, or fees incurred by us will be deducted from your refund.

Important: Upon import into your destination country, customs officials may request your Tax ID details. This is a legal requirement that we cannot override. If requested, this information must be provided to receive your shipment. Failure to do so may result in the shipment being returned to the sender, and any associated shipping fees will be the customer’s responsibility.
