Perfect pairing

Things that go well together are worth celebrating. When Studio Underd0g joined forces with Massena LAB, we needed something special to symbolise watchmaking at its most inspirational and unexpected. We called for Champagne & Caviar, in a design that contrasts the subtle effervescence of one with the timeless quality of the other. Every detail delights, from the miniature champagne bottle in the chronograph hand, to the generous serving of caviar in the sub dial. All effortlessly powered by the Swiss Sellita SW510 M movement that makes this the celebration destined to last.

Massena LAB

Massena LAB creates, designs and develops timepieces with renowned watchmakers. Founded by William Massena, a noted watch collector and industry expert, Massena LAB proposes ideas or concepts to manufactures that are unusual and beyond the offerings from their collection. Massena LAB exists to embody a horological culture and play an integral part in its constant evolution using elements of style from the past to enhance the future of watchmaking. It aims to create a community of informed watch enthusiasts with a passion for original timepieces from independent watchmakers. The “LAB” stands for laboratory, label, but also collaboration.

Our playful twist

By employing modern machining techniques, the oversized “big-eye” sub-dial at three o’clock has been artfully reimagined to resemble a (generously portioned) pot of caviar, a subtle yet striking detail that defines the design.

The varied size of the sub-dials is visually offset by the co-branding, allowing the chronograph seconds hand to pass through uninterrupted. Idiosyncratic, yet balanced. A keen eye will notice the distinct silhouette of a champagne bottle at the base of the chronograph hand, sweeping smoothly over the shimmering champagne dial. The watch is paired with a beautifully supple handmade pebble-grain calfskin strap, courtesy of The Strap Tailor.

The SW510 M

Housed within the 3-part case construction is the Swiss Sellita SW510 M, building on Studio Underd0g’s first use of this movement in last year’s Project Passion collaboration with H. Moser & Cie. This mono-pusher, hand-winding calibre features 63 hours of power reserve, and a custom Côte de Genève, ruthénium anthracite finished bridge exclusively made for Studio Underd0g.
